Microsoft Excel is one of the most important applications that you can ever learn in your working career, the reason I say that is that over 90% of businesses use Microsoft Excel on a day-to-day basis so not knowing Microsoft Excel can really put you on the outer. One of the greatest challenges we have in working with Microsoft Excel is the cell addresses. The use of the column naming standard from A to Z then AA to IV is really ingenious but it really does cause a lot of problems for people using large spreadsheet. Just imagine trying to remember what every single cell does in a spreadsheet that has over 20,000 cells.

Well if you think that’s hard, just try imaging one … there must be an easier way.

Absolutely there is and it involves naming your cells in a worksheet. So what does naming involve, well essentially naming a cell involves giving a cell address such as AA543 a normal name like Interest Rate or Total Amount. The cool part about giving cells a name is that you can actually refer to the name in formulas rather than the cell address. Naming a cell makes life so much easier in Microsoft Excel simply because as humans we are able to relate to more descriptive names like Interest Rate or Total Amount than we can with a standard cell however there is some very strict rules we must follow.

Rule #1 - Names Must Not Exceed 255 Characters

The first rule that we must follow is that when you are naming a cell, the cell name must not exceed 255 characters. There is another aspect of this that you should also be aware of and that is if the name exceeds 253 characters then the name will not show up in the Name box on the formula toolbar. In reality though you want to follow this rule of thumb, in that your names should not exceed 30 characters, generally we try to limit them between 10 and 20 characters because anymore than that and your formulas and functions can be too difficult to fault find.

Rule #2 - Cell Names Are Not Allowed To Contain Spaces

Cell Names in Microsoft Excel must not have spaces. There are two ways that are considered acceptable in overcoming this problem. One way is to distinguish unique words in a name by placing the letter at the start of each word in Capitals such as -

TrialBalance

An alternative way of naming a cell is to use the underscore such as -

Trial_Balance

Either technique is quite acceptable. You may find though that using underscores in Names where you have used borders that it may be difficult to distinguish the underscore from a border. In this particular case it would be better to use the first naming standard.

Rule #3 - Microsoft Excel Does Not Distinguish Between a Capital Letter and a Lower Case One

Microsoft Excel Cell Names are not case sensitive which means that a capital C is exactly the same as a lower case c and this is one of the reasons why we utilise the first naming standard in Rule #2.

Rule #4 - Cell Names Must Be Unique and Must Not Resemble a Number, Cell Address Or Reserve Word

Microsoft Excel is very strict in that you cannot have the following in cell names -

- No Spaces in Cell Names
- No Mathematical Symbols such as + - * / < > &
- Names cannot resemble a number, cell address or reserved word
A reserved word is a text used for functions and formulas. For example you cannot call a cell by the name SUM as it is already used in the function SUM.

Rule #5 - Cell Names May Only Contain The Following Characters

When naming cells you may only use the following characters -

- Letter Characters From A to Z
- Number Characters from 0 to 9
- Non-Uniform Characters such as . _ ?

Rule #6 - A Cell Name must start with a Letter, Backslash ( ) or an Underscore ( _ )

Whilst you can use numbers and non-uniform characters such as a decimal and question mark all cell names must start with a Letter, Backslash ( ) or an Underscore ( _ )

So, How do we give a cell a name?

The simplest way to name a cell is to first select the cell, then once you have selected the cell simply click in the Name Box on the formula bar, type the name you wish to use and then press the Enter Key. What you will notice is that each time you click on the cell with the cell name, Microsoft Excel will substitute the cell address for the name you gave the cell.

Naming cells is a really useful skill to learn especially when you are starting to create complex spreadsheets as it is very easy to forget which cell address contains each piece of data. Naming cells means that it will be easier for you to write your formulas that refer to the cells with the right information.

Scrying, the art of gaining telepathic information by gazing into crystals, began thousands of years ago. Ancient civilizations revered crystals, believing they had magical powers. The people thought that the gods would deliver mystical wisdom to the meditator through the stones. Battles, travel, healing, diets, and even decisions about the ruling of kingdoms were often planned according to wisdom imparted to scryers from their stones. Today the art of scrying is still widely practiced, but has lost a bit of it’s mystery as we have gained knowledge of the reactions between energy and crystals.

We now know that crystals vibrate with their own frequencies. They also absorb frequencies they are exposed to and can actually store this input within them. The stone has the capability to amplify these vibrations as well. Scientists actually use crystals to slow the speed of light, and many are used in communication devices. Because of their capacity to store energy information much as your brain does, crystals are also being used in the construction of a new type of computer. It is the capacity of the crystal to play back stored information in the form of energy for your brain to pick up and decipher that gives the crystal its “magical” power. When you pick up a crystal which is on a frequency level that is compatible with your own, you gain access to this stored information. The compatability of frequencies is the reason that you will find some crystals will work for you and others will not.

Being that emotions and thoughts have also their own frequencies, “bad” vibrations can be stored just as easily as “good” vibrations. In other words, you can pick up a crystal that will have negative reactions. These negative vibrations can become so amplified that a stone can actually become known to be cursed. This is the case with some very famous gemstones. (See the article about the cursed black diamond in the Station 1 Connector newsletter for an example of cursed gemstones:
http://www.rockhoundstation1.com/newsletter.html - December, 2005 issue. Archives are at the bottom of page if you are reading this after December). The main rule here is that if you have bad feelings from a crystal, or bad things happen to you while in contact with a crystal, it is best to avoid the stone completely. Something is not right with the frequency or stored energy in the stone. So how do you find the right one?

Choosing the right stone may be a bit easier than you may think it would be. You may have a particular crystal in mind when you begin your search for the right one. While browsing for that crystal, it is likely that another one may catch and hold your attention or your eye. When you continue your search, you will find that you are continually being drawn back to that crystal. You may be so strongly attracted to a crystal that it seems to be actually calling to you. That is the crystal you will want to choose. It attracts you because it’s frequencies and information storage are right for you.

Before using a crystal for scrying purposes, you will want to clean the stone to erase any interfering frequencies from the surface. This can be done in a few different ways. Most people soak the crystal in a water and sea salt solution for 24 hours before use. Some bury the stone in natural fiber cloth such as silk or linen. After cleansing, the stone may be left in sun or moonlight for a while to “charge” it much as you would recharge a battery. This process is claimed to amplify the stone’s energies quite effectively.

Once you have the stone prepared for scrying, place it against a background that aid visual contact with the stone. A plain white background can be effective for this for most crystals. Now notice any patterns you may see in the stone. Clear your mind as you watch the stone and patterns within it. Don’t bother adapting a frozen stare, just watch it naturally. Soon you will see images or patterns evolving in the stone. You won’t be thinking these things - you will physically see them. Once you see the patterns or images, ideas will come to you about them. Pay attention to these ideas, but let them flow freely. What is happening is that the stone is releasing stored energy to you, or converting energy it is receiving from you into ideas.

By using the stone’s stored and active energy flows you can learn about events from the past or about connections you have to events in the universe that might go unrealized without the amplification of the energies by your crystal. You will be able to see the effects of your energies on the stone as many crystals will start to change visually with continued use, and develop cloudy spots or change of color. These changes in no way should be viewed as spoiling the stone. They are just natures way of showing us that the crystal’s power to amplify, store, convert, and distribute energy are quite physical processes and have much less to do with magic than our ancestors realized.

Sunless tanning is becoming very popular, there are two main reasons for this. Firstly having a good tan has become fashionable and desirable. A lot of people do not live in a place with constant sunshine and most of us cannot afford a holiday to the sun to top up our tans every month. This means that people are turning to the various methods of sunless tanning to achieve the desired result. The second reason is to do with health. It is common knowledge that regular exposure to the sun increases the risk of contracting skin cancer. Also the sun has an aging effect on skin, regular sun bathing can leave you looking older than you actually are. Sunless tanning can offer a safe way to get that bronzed look you were after without damaging your skin.

There are 4 main sunless tanning methods you can use:

1.Sunless Tanning Lotion - Sunless tanning lotions generally contain the bronzing ingredient dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This is a colourless sugar that interacts with dead skin cells causing a colour change to occur. The colour change usually lasts about 5 to 7 days from the initial application. This is a popular method of sunless tanning but it can be difficult to get an even tan.

2.Spray Tanning - The science of spray tanning is similar to tanning lotions, but the tanning solution is applied in a spray. This can either be done manually by a spray gun or automatically in a tanning booth. A new development in spray tanning is the colourless tanning solution. This solution does not contain bronzer and affords a less streaky, more even tan.

3.Tanning Beds - Tanning beds or sunbeds contain fluorescent tubes, these tubes tan the skin by emitting Ultraviolet (UV) Rays, the same type of radiation that is found in natural sunlight. These tanning beds are an effective sunless tanning method but frequent, long term usage can lead to skin cancer and skin aging.

4.Tanning Pills - Tanning pills come in three varieties: Those that contain caretenoid pigments, those that contain tyrosine and those with no active ingredients. Caretenoid pills contain a pigment which, when taken internally saturates the fat layers just below the skin, which appears to give the skin colour. These pills can change the colour of your skin but the results are often undesirable. The colouration can look unnatural and tends to be concentrated in fatty areas leaving an uneven effect. The other 2 types of tanning pill are not proven to have any effect on the colour of your skin.

Generally the best method of sunless tanning is the spray tan, or if you can not get to a tanning salon you can use a tanning lotion. There are a wide variety of sunless tanning products available so some experimentation may be necessary to find one which you are comfortable using and which works with your skin type. Tanning beds are effective but they have similar risks to conventional sunbathing. Tanning pills are best avoided unless you know exactly what they contain and what the effect will be on your skin.

Always give a reason for the sale for credibility.

1. If you have old Inventory, give a closeout sale.

2. Return sales. Sometimes called a scratch and dent sale. Offer any less than perfect inventory at a special discount. Always mention the character flaw with the product — the corner’s bent, label glue scratch somewhere.

3. Only one or two left. Sell them for half price. Post on eBay. Combine them with another product, change the price to cover half of the orginal price.

4. Discount sale. You could create one or two-time seasonal discount sale. Use Ikea’s model of a sale only once a year. How about holidays, the President’s birthday, or the company’s X year sale. Auto dealers have over used this and people don’t pay much attention to them any longer. Be careful not to do the same.

5. Use Amazon’s model and offer free shipping for orders over $X. Alternatively, offer free shipping with limited dates or if they upgrade.

6. Have higher priced items for sale? Offer a special payment with automatic billing to their credit card.

7. Add ways to provide samples. Free trials, free previews, with automatic delayed payment after X days if they don’t return the product by that date. To screen customers, charge a small fee like a delivery fee, postage, or an amount you pay for processing their credit card.

8. Offer a pre-sell price. Product not ready…book at the printers or currently in the mail to Amazon, sell it anyway. Offer a pre-production price. Just be careful on your dates.

9. Has someone purchased a similar product or smaller version? Offer them a “special” customer offer.

10. Use the “if you buy now, we’ll give you two for the price of one” offer. This offer has worked well in Sunday morning TV ads, why not for yours. Tell them they can give the other away for a Christmas or birthday gift. Whenever you solve two problems with one offer, you have gotten their attention. This works the same as a bonus offer.

The alarm goes off! You feel that bolt of dread and fear in your heart. Will you make it through the day? Will you hold on by your fingernails and just barely make it to the end of the day? Will your cognitive problems cause you more humiliation? Will you be able to keep your job? If you have Fibromyalgia Syndrome, you think about how you’ll deal with the pain. Thoughts go through your head that you don’t really want to consider. Would it be better to just give up completely, lose everything, just to stop this daily torture? If you’re still capable of working, you make the painful tremendous effort to get up and try to survive this day. If you’ve got Fibromyalgia, you already know that’s how each day can be. Some people describe it this way, “Fibromyalgia is chronic fatigue syndrome with pain.”

In your mind, you have to believe that someway, somehow, someday you can beat this hideous disease, and live like the normal people you see and envy every day. You can wake up and enjoy your family and friends, who may not really understand why you lay on the couch in pain or exhausted before noon. You have tried many different treatments, and some of them may have helped, but you are still not well. As you read these words, deep inside you think, “Is there hope for me here? Is there any hope at all?”

According to the American College of Rheumatology, Fibromyalgia affects 3 to 6 million Americans. Other sources say the total number affected could be 8 million people. It primarily occurs in women of childbearing age, but children, the elderly, and men can also be affected. Approximately 80 percent to 90 percent of people affected by Fibromyalgia syndrome are women. Because the symptoms can often be difficult to diagnose, many people will often fail to seek treatment because they don’t want to admit that the symptoms they are experiencing are in fact the signs that something is not working the way it should inside the body.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized by fatigue and widespread pain in your muscles, ligaments and tendons. At first, it was not considered an illness at all. Doctors could not find any thing wrong with patients so they believed it to be psychosomatic. Slowly that dismissive view is changing. Published research at Johns Hopkins, The University of Pennsylvania and other top research facilities, points to immune dysfunction and cardiac abnormalities in these illnesses. It is difficult to believe that some doctors still regard people with Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome as nothing more than “extremely worried well people.”

The primary Fibromyalgia symptom is widespread, diffuse pain, often including heightened sensitivity of the skin, aching around the joints, and nerve pain. Other symptoms often attributed to Fibromyalgia include physical fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, interstitial cystitis, dermatological disorders, headaches, and symptomatic hypoglycemia. Although it is common in people with Fibromyalgia for pain to be widespread, it may also be localized in areas such as the shoulders, neck, back, hips, or other areas. Not all people have all symptoms.

The cause of Fibromyalgia is unknown, but researchers have several hypotheses about what triggers the illness. Some scientists believe that the syndrome may be caused by an injury or trauma. This injury may affect the central nervous system. Fibromyalgia may be associated with changes in muscle metabolism, such as decreased blood flow, causing fatigue and decreased strength. Others believe an infectious agent such as a virus in susceptible people may trigger the syndrome, but no such agent has been identified. Psychological stress and hormonal changes also may be possible causes of Fibromyalgia.

While there is no medical cure for Fibromyalgia, many people have experienced improvement in symptoms and quality of life through nutritional improvements including supplementations of micronutrients including glyconutrients. I have personally worked with people, including the spouses of doctors, who have noticed incredible changes in quality of life when introducing the appropriate levels of high-quality nutrients to their diets.

Accepting Legal Guardianship of a child is a very tricky issue. The legalities involved in accepting the guardianship are sometimes very tedious and irritating. Still, if you are interested in becoming the Legal Guardian of a child, you have to bear in mind the problems you are likely to encounter. You wouldn’t like your personal life to be monitored by the court or anyone else, including the child’s parents. Your guardianship can be cancelled any time by the child’s parents. All the schools or hospitals may not accept your guardianship straight away. At the initial stages, it may be difficult to establish a rapport with the child, and once it is established, the child may not be willing to go back to his parents if they change their mind and revoke the guardianship. You may be required to fill a variety of Legal Forms to fulfill all the formalities as a Legal Guardian.

You can purchase the forms from your local bookstore, get them from a lawyer or download them from the Internet. You cannot afford to be complacent just by getting the form and filling it. You need to check the validity of the form. It may or may not be applicable to the state laws where you are located. It may not conform to the latest legal procedures, since the legal processes keep on changing with the changing social, political and economic conditions at the national or the state level.

It is, therefore, advisable to visit the local law center or the library to check the latest ‘official’ version. Or you can visit the court to get ‘court-specific’ forms, which are available from the court clerk for little or no charge.

You can seek the advice of someone who has already gone through this process and knows the ins and outs of the whole affair. A person with first-hand experience can provide valuable advice.

Here is a note of warning. Read the instructions on the form carefully before filling it. Skipping them may lead to unpleasant legal consequences.

Legal Forms provides detailed information about legal forms, business legal forms, divorce legal forms, free legal forms and more. Legal Forms is the sister site of Medical Power Of Attorney.
